Chi-town

The Knight and I are staring down our 5th wedding anniversary. It is in July, and we wanted to go on a little trip to celebrate. We have decided to go to Chicago for 4 days, and are needing good hotel recommendations.

If you have a suggestion for that, or for restaurants, tips, etc, please tell me in the comments!

Thanks!

Oh boy, do I ever! My BF grew up outside of Chicago, and we spend a lot of time in the city vacationing/seeing friends & family.

In brief... as it depends on what you want to spend:

Ambassador East is a great little boutique property. I love the Palmer House Hilton for it's location to Millenium Park (in the summer) and for it's beautiful historic lobby- it's grand. Omni MI Ave is great- rooms are spacious and great location. Westin Mi Ave (never been to River North) is wonderful as well- great location and love those beds, of course! Hotel Sax is a swanky little boutique (read: LITTLE rooms), look into the new James Hotel- sup to be very modern, hotel Allegro is a neat little boutique, and Hotel Indigo is a new brand but looks wonderful! Of course, you have Peninsula and Park Hyatt in all their wonderful-ness, but $!

Great Spanish Tapas restaurant in Lincoln Park- Cafe Ba Ba Reeba. I really do hear the Rosebud Italian restaurants are wonderful and I've been to a couple and not been disapointed. Gino's for casual pizza, always a good bet. Carmine's on Rush was good for New Years Eve, Bistro Campagne in Logan Square is a good little place... we've been so many places I don't even remember. But hopefully that was helpful! Feel free to shoot me an e-mail with any questions- bits.and.pieces@hotmail.com

I saw a place called Vito and Nick's Pizzeria on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network. It looks REALLY good.
